Hired by Koors House, BlackHouse had to deliver within 10 a commercial for Almap with lots of dancing and movements by Cheester Cheeta for a HiHop event.
In a unique collaboration between director JoaQuiMoreno, and the incredible choreographer, Michel Henrique Martins, and the technical expertise of Regis Baralti, technical director of BlackHouse, they sought to create an impactful and fun ad.
In this challenging project, director JoaQuiMoreno brought a small stage that represented both the musical and dance presentation that was put on with all the energy by Michel, bringing to life a celebration of street dance in all its forms, from movements inspired by 70s to the vibrant Street dance. The intention was not only to celebrate urban dance, but also to highlight its unique style, involving the public and everyone present in the contagious energy of Hip Hop culture.
To bring the iconic character, Chester Cheetah, to life, we relied on the technical mastery of Regis Baralti and the use of Motion Capture technology. This approach allowed for the authentic transmission of all of Michel's movements and energy to the Chester Cheetah, creating a direct connection between the dancer and the animated character.
The character's hair was expertly developed by our team and then transported to Unreal, where we created a control rig for animation adjustments. The process was finalized with the application of Path Tracing to the render, where we obtained exceptional high visual quality in the final product.
The result is an animated character full of life and energy, faithfully capturing the essence that the Chester Cheetah brings to audiences. This commercial not only celebrates street dance, but also represents the fusion of art, technology and creativity that drives BlackHouse's work.
